Pure Blue Japan's new jeans offer a smoky indigo twist on their iconic XX fabric. The warp is dyed with a blend of indigo and sulfur, resulting in a unique, '70s-style hue that contrasts beautifully with the natural white weft. Crafted from 14oz denim with a renowned slubby texture, these jeans are low-tension woven on vintage shuttle looms in Ibara, Okayama.
Featuring a regular straight cut with minimal taper and a high rise, these jeans are detailed with high-quality pocket bags, heavy-duty bar tacks, long stitching, iron buttons, a custom lambskin leather patch, and the signature "shoai" (Indigofera leaf) embroidery.
This pair has a standard sizing. We recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. Pure Blue Japan is the dream of Kenichi Iwaya. Passionate about denim, he grew up in Okayama and acquired experience working in different mills around the region, until in 1997 he decided to create his own brand. Ever since, Iwaya-San has been obsessed with producing incredible fabrics with unique, slubby textures and a distinct character. This is why he only works with shuttle looms from Ibara, Okayama, using only the best cottons from the United States and India. Since its emergence until today, Pure Blue Japan has consolidated its position as one of the touchstone labels in Japanese Denim, and its excellent work has established it as one of the masters of indigo dye.
